Lactose alcohol is a disaccharide alcohol prepared by reduction of lactose. It is white crystal or crystalline powder, or colorless liquid, and is easily soluble in water. The main forms of lactose alcohol are liquid lactose alcohol and crystalline lactose alcohol. When sugar is mixed with other sweeteners, its caloric value is about 30%.
